Reverend Randy Ashford
Reverend Randy Ashford, now living in
Hanover, Pennsylvania was once a child in the Washington D.C. Parent
Child Center home-based and center-based programs. Reverend Ashford
was enrolled on August 14, 1975 at 21⁄2 years of age. He was
a very quiet, shy and somewhat withdrawn child. While he attended
Harrison Elementary School, the PCC staff followed him from K through
3rd grade, as a part of PCC’s DISTAR Program (a collaboration
with D.C. Public Schools.) He did well in his elementary school
experience, becoming captain of the Safety Patrol. He also participated
in the Young Marine Program in D.C. Randy attended Shaw Junior High
School and the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, where he excelled
in the theatrical arts. He was recruited and became the first three-year
theatre arts student to graduate. Although Randy went on to Hartford
Community College and Morgan State College, along the way he decided
to work full-time as a substitute teacher, remodeler, and electrician
and currently in the Quality Assurance Department with Blue Cross
Blue Shield. His wife Teresa and their three children (Randy, 10,
Faith, 7, and Ferrious, 4) are enjoying suburban family life in
Pennsylvania. He was called into the Ministry about three years
ago, and is now in the process of starting a theatre group in his
local community. Behind the scene “sound work, cameras, lighting,
and technical directing” are Reverend Ashford’s hobbies.
His service to the World Assemblies of Restoration is his passion.
His wife and children are his “pride and joy.”
